What Scuba Is
Scuba is a reading app. It provides the software, formatting, curation, navigation, reading progress tracking, and in-app experience. By using Scuba, you agree to these terms.
The Texts
Scuba includes texts that are in the public domain or otherwise available for lawful reuse. Scuba does not claim copyright in the underlying texts themselves.
Scuba does claim rights in its own work: the selection and curation of the library, formatting and typographical preparation of texts, app features, interface design, and all original software.
You are free to read the included texts. The app and its features are licensed to you, not sold.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Scuba lawfully and not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the app's source code
- Use Scuba in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to circumvent any access controls or licensing features
Paid Features and Subscriptions
Scuba may offer paid features or subscriptions, including an annual auto-renewable Scuba Reading Pass. Any such purchases are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system and are subject to Apple's payment terms.
The Scuba Reading Pass renews yearly unless cancelled. The current price, subscription period and included access are shown in the app before purchase and confirmed by Apple during checkout.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel the subscription in Apple Subscription settings.
Refund requests for in-app purchases should be directed to Apple in the first instance.
Disclaimer
Scuba is provided as-is and without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep the app reliable and the library accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or the absence of errors.
To the extent permitted by law, Scuba's liability for any claim arising from use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app or feature in question.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
